Terry McInturff - Director of Center for Energy Commerce

Terry is the Director of the Center and Assistant Professor of Energy Commerce.  In addition to generally sub par performance of his administrative duties as Director, he teaches Petroleum Land Management,  Oil & Gas Agreements, International Energy Policy & Law and Energy Finance. He is the sponsor of the World Energy Project.

He began his career in the oil industry in 1975 as an independent landman, while a student at Texas Tech.  In 1979, he moved to Denver, returning to Texas Tech in 2003.

His professional experience includes private practice in Energy Law, in-house counsel, landman working in the Rockies, Texas and Louisiana, as well as international negotiation experience in South America, North Africa and Central Asia.

Terry has B.S. in Education and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degrees from Texas Tech University and has completed post graduate studies in International Business and Environmental Policy and Management.  He has served as an adjunct professor of law and lecturer in petroleum land management.  His only writing efforts are the articles, "U.S. Energy Policy:  If You Don't Know Where You're Going, Any Road Will Get You There" , "The Dominant Mineral Estate:  Erosion the Sierra Club Doesn't Mind" and a couple of bad checks.  The academic community was more impressed by the bad checks.
